Sakura Exchange ensures the protection of all private information acquired from customers. The “Act on the Protection of Personal Information” (Act No. 57 of 2003) will be complied with. Furthermore, the company will ensure that the complaints received from the customers will be kept private and confidentially and that such complaints will be promptly attended to. The Acquisition of Customer’s Personal Information

Customer’s personal information will be acquired through appropriate means. As a general rule of thumb, the personal information acquired from the customer will be by means of an application form being filled in by the customer provided by the foreign currency exchange business.

The purpose of our acquisition of customer’s personal information is to ensure that the transactions carried out between Sakura Exchange and the customers are carried in a safe and reliable manner, providing our customers with an above-average financial product and service. The personal information acquired is necessary in order to confirm the identity of the customer based on internal procedures, laws, and regulations, as well as confirming various situations when conducting transactions, and proposing new products and services to customers.

Target Businesses

Foreign currency exchange business (at the counter, foreign currency delivery, foreign currency wholesale, etc.) and related businesses as well as other related businesses that Sakura Exchange is able to carry out (inclusive of businesses that will be approved in the near future).

・For the confirmation of specific matters inclusive of the eligibility to use the financial service as well as, identity verification based on the ”Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds Act”, “Foreign Exchange Act” and other related laws.
・In order to manage the due date of the financial service offered by Sakura Exchange.
・To judge the adequacy of product and service provision, judgments are based on the principle of suitability.
・For outsourcing business operators to execute all or part of the processing of personal information.

・To understand customer needs and provide optimal products and services information to customers
・To conduct market research, data analysis, surveys, etc. for research and development of financial products and services.

・For cancellation of transactions and after-cancellation handling

Please be aware that the request for the notification of the purpose of the use of Retained Personal Data will not be accepted under the following circumstances.

・ The identity of the person cannot be verified
・ Cases fall under any of items 1 to 3  of Paragraph 4 of Article 18  of Act on the Protection of Personal Information Law.

In addition, a disclosure will not be made under the following circumstances.

・ The identity of the person cannot be verified
・It would risk harming the life, body, property, or the rights and interests of the person or a third party
・It would risk significantly impeding our company’s ability to properly implement its businesses
・It would violate regulations or laws

With regard to the customers’ personal information, when the subject customer makes a request for notification about disclosure, correction, addition or removal of items of Personal Information, suspension of usage, deletion, or suspension of provision to third parties, in accordance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Law.
